Hotel Review: Westin Grande Sukhumvit Bangkok

As I travel quite often for work, I’m going to keep a record of all the hotels I’ve stayed in, to serve as a reminder of what works and what doesn’t.  It’ll make future bookings much easier.  Forgot to take photos of the place, so I took them from their website. http://www.westingrandesukhumvit.com/gallery

Location:  Connected right to Asok BTS station.  As close to a BTS station as it gets.  Great for access to downtown areas. Next to Terminal 21 and right opposite the Sheraton hotel.

Room:  I stayed in the Deluxe room, which is very spacious.  However its rather dated as there’s an old musky smell in the room and the corridor.  You can’t hide this smell, no matter what fragrance you use.  The Westin’s Heavenly bed is just right for me, medium-firm.

Gym:  Reminds me of those old dated gyms with antiquated equipment.  Freeweights, treadmill, maybe like 4-5 weight machines.  Pretty small area for a gym.  There is another room dedicated to yoga with mats and all, but its very underutilized.

Breakfast:  Standard offer, omelette station, fruits selection, local fare, pastries, and hot soy milk (oh yes!)

Bar:  Nice live music and the wait staff are pretty nice.  Good place for a chat.

Would I return?  Only if I want to stay around Terminal 21.
